It was meant to be a quick stop for coffee. Instead, it turned into the beginning of a story Candace never saw coming.
As she pulled into the parking lot, she barely noticed the gray figure pacing nearby.
Her mind was elsewhere. The day ahead. Her to-do list. All the usual things.
But before she could even reach for the door handle, the stray cat made his move.
In a bold leap, he landed squarely inside her car. No hesitation. No glance back.

If they crossed paths in a pet-friendly store, Beef would square his shoulders, flick his tail, and stare down the much larger animals with a confidence that left people laughing.
