Everything we know so far as 9 teens surrender to police after 16-year-old was lured to his death and filmed dying

The schoolboy was gunned down in cold-blood following an altercation that cops believe took place due to a love triangle

A 16-year-old is dead after having allegedly been lured to his death by nine teens – one of whom is suspected of capturing the killing on camera.

10th is now expected to hand themselves into police following the killing of schoolboy Trey Dean Wright, who was gunned down in June on a road close to Johnsonville, South Carolina, less than an hour drive west of Myrtle Beach.

Detectives probing his death believe the youngster was set up by his peers and his girlfriend, who were aware that suspected shooter, Devan Scott Raper, was armed with a gun waiting for him.

It was late in the evening on June 24 when Trey was understood to have been discovered with multiple gunshot wounds at North First Neck Road, a road in the Johnsonville community, which resides in Florence County.

Tragically, he died the following day in hospital.

Who was Trey Dean Wright?

Trey, of Scranton – a town just a 20-minute drive east of where the 16-year-old was fatally shot – was a rising sophomore at Johnsonville High School and a ‘proud varsity athlete, playing both football and baseball’.

“He was a true outdoorsman who loved riding dirt bikes, spending time in nature, and living life to the fullest,” his obituary reads.

“Known for his infectious smile and ability to make everyone laugh, Trey was the kind of person who left a lasting impression on those around him.”

Trey was born in Hartsville, a city just under an hour’s drive northwest of his hometown of Scranton, on October 9, 2008.

He worked at Vox Deer Processing – a butcher on the outskirts of Johnsonville.

Why was Trey murdered?

Cops believe the motive for the teen’s tragic death to have been over a love triangle, involving Trey, his 17-year-old girlfriend Gianna Kistenmacher, and 19-year-old Raper.

Trey and the suspected shooter are understood to have gotten into a dispute shortly after he arrived, with his partner having persuaded him to meet at the rural location – despite knowing Raper had a firearm on him.

“This was an altercation between two people,” Sheriff TJ Joye said per News13. “It’s not like I’m just going to go to Johnsonville and shoot somebody. They had issues with each other and it was over a female.

“The sad thing is, you got a 16-year-old that lost his life. You’ve got a 19-year-old who is going to be in jail the rest of his life. Over what?”

Who is the prime suspect, Devan Scott Raper?

The 19-year-old is the prime suspect in the killing of Trey – an act which is believed to have been caught on camera by one of the nine teens understood to have surrendered to the police.

The distressing footage reportedly shows the teen as he lay dying in the street.

Raper, of Conway, was allegedly taken to the desolate road by Trey’s girlfriend, Kistenmacher.

The teen has been denied bond and remains in jail as he awaits trial, after having been arrested and subsequently charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Who is Trey’s girlfriend, Gianna Kistenmacher?

While Raper is being charged with Trey’s murder, the late teen’s girlfriend is also being accused of taking the suspect to the location knowing that he was armed, as well as knowing there could be a violent confrontation.

As a result, Kistenmacher faces felony charges of accessory before the fact.

Major Michael Nunn, of Florence County Sheriff Office, told News13 that officers believe that she was aware ‘that there would be a confrontation for violence likely lead to death based on statements made in her presence’.

Who are the teens allegedly involved in Trey’s death?

As well as Raper and Kistenmacher, Hunter Kendall and Corrine Belviso, both aged 18, and 17-year-old Sydney Kearns have also been arrested.

All three are believed to live in the Myrtle Beach-area.

Nunn added: “The hand of one being the hand of all is part of South Carolina law as well, so that’s the basis of the charge for each of those individuals.”

The other four teenagers involved have also been charged, but as they are minors, their names have not been made public.

The major told WBTW: “They were complicit in bringing the armed codefendant, Raper, to the incident location and knowing that there would be a confrontation.

“They knew that Raper had presented a firearm to the victim and made threats to shoot him, according to the arrest warrants.”

What have the police said about the murder?

A press release from the sheriff’s office read at the time: “On June 24, 2025 at approximately 11:30 pm FCSO deputies responded to a call of a shooting incident on First Neck Road near Johnsonville, SC. When deputies arrived, the victim was discovered laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds.

“EMS transported the victim to an area Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken has identified the victim as 16 year old Trey Dean Wright of Johnsonville, SC.”

It went on: “Devin Scott Raper was taken into custody on June 25, 2025 in Conway, SC and charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. According to Investigators, Raper is alleged to have shot the victim following a verbal altercation.”

Major Nunn informed the community that the arrests have not come lightly for cops, telling News13: “The decision was made, again with investigators, in consultation with the solicitor’s office to charge each of them.

“The hand of one being the hand of all is part of South Carolina law as well, so that’s the basis of the charge for each of those individuals.”

He also said many of those who have been charged were ‘complicit in bringing the armed codefendant, Raper, to the incident location and knowing that there would be a confrontation’.

What have Trey’s loved ones said?

Trey’s mom, Ashley Lindsey, has vowed to fight for justice for her late son – who she described as being one of the kindest people anyone could ever meet.

“My baby never deserved not one thing that happened to him, period. He was one in a million,” she said per ABC 15.

“He was good for people’s souls. His happiness was so contagious. He always spread joy and he was one of the most kind-hearted kids you’d ever meet.

“I will fight for justice for my baby. If it takes every last breath in me.”

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page has since been set up to support the family as they make arrangements following his death, which can be donated to here.

Sydney Kearns has also been charged with murder (Florence County Detention Center)

“I’m heartbroken to share that we recently lost someone very close to us. In this difficult time, I’ve created this GoFundMe to help support treys family with funeral expenses and any other costs they may face as they grieve this unimaginable loss,” the GoFundMe read.

“He was a kind soul who touched so many lives, and I want to make sure his family feels the love and support of the community around them. Any donation, no matter how small, means the world and will go directly to helping his loved ones during this time. Thank you for your support.”

It was set up by Keira Husfeldt on behalf of one of Trey’s close friends, Ethan Kirby.

“Trey was like my best friend, like that was my day one,” Kirby told WBTW’s News13. “I’ve known him since I’ve been like nine years old. And I just known these group of people from the beach for the past few months, really.

“So, like, I’m like, I could care less about them.”Featured Image Credit: GoFundMe

10th teen expected to surrender to police after 16-year-old was allegedly lured to his death and filmed dying

Trey Dean Wright was gunned down in what the authorities have dubbed a savage ‘murder plot’

It is anticipated a 10th teen will surrender to police in an alleged ‘murder plot’ of a 16-year-old boy.

On June 24, Trey Dean Wright was gunned down in a remote area off a rural Florence County road in Johnsonville, South Carolina, in what murder investigators believe was a planned set-up.

The teen was allegedly brought to the area by his girlfriend, Gianna Kistenmacher, where he encountered a group and would end up seriously wounded.

As he lay dying, at least one of the teenagers gathered on the street apparently filmed him.

Cops then descended on the scene at around 11.30pm where they found the victim ‘laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds.’

Devan Scott Raper, 19, has been accused of previously threatening the 16-year-old and of flashing a gun at him. The pair had apparently got into a heated exchange over a girl.

Raper was then filmed firing several rounds into Wright, who tragically died from his injuries the next day.

Cops arrested and charged the teen with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Raper remains in jail without bond.

Gianna Helene Kistenmacher has also been charged (Florence County Sheriff's Office)

Now, eight other teens have been hit with various other charges for their role in allegedly helping to set up the homicide in the past few weeks.

Investigators allege the group of teens were aware of Wright’s location and knew Raper was armed when they alerted him to his location.

According to News 13, a 10th suspect is also expected to turn themselves in soon.

The 10th teen comes as Florence County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the names of four others, including the victim’s 17-year-old girlfriend, Kistenmacher, who has been charged with accessory before the fact.

Cops determined she likely knew Raper was armed and had instigated the conflict between him and Wright.

She has since been released on bond to home confinement.

Hunter Kendall and Corrine Belviso, both 18, and Sydney Kearns, 17, have also been arrested and charged though their parts of what they allegedly played in the murder is yet to be confirmed.

The other four have also been charged but as they are minors, their names have not been made public.

Florence County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Michael Nunn said the arrests have not come lightly for cops.

“The decision was made, again with investigators, in consultation with the solicitor’s office to charge each of them,” he told the outlet.

“The hand of one being the hand of all is part of South Carolina law as well, so that’s the basis of the charge for each of those individuals,” Nunn added.

He also said many of those who have been charged were ‘complicit in bringing the armed codefendant, Raper to the incident location and knowing that there would be a confrontation’.

Everything we know as police issue major update on Madeleine McCann after finding evidence which ‘indicates she’s dead’

Christian Brueckner is the main suspect in the case, but no charges have been brought against him

Warning: This article contains discussion of child abuse and rape which some readers may find distressing

An investigation has revealed what evidence was discovered at a property owned by the main suspect in Madeleine McCann’s case in 2016.

On May 3, 2007, a three-year-old girl from Britain named Madeleine McCann disappeared from a holiday apartment complex in Praia da Luz, Portugal.

A Europe-wide police investigation was immediately launched, but over 15 years on, it’s still not been ascertained what happened to her.

Several years ago, a man named Christian Brueckner was named the prime suspect in Madeleine’s case after a dog led authorities to a suspected grave on the side of disused factory he owned in Neuwegersleben, central Germany. Brueckner has repeatedly denied any involvement.

An investigation by the Sun has now revealed what evidence was allegedly discovered.

Evidence discovered at Christian Brueckner’s property

The grave was reportedly found to contain the remains of Brueckner’s deceased dog, alongside a wallet with six USB sticks and two memory cards inside.

Brueckner allegedly bought the disused factory the year after Madeleine’s disappearance.

Alongside the technological devices, children’s clothes, including over 70 children’s swimming costumes, and toys, as well as masks, chemicals, and three guns and ammunition were reportedly found.

What was allegedly discovered on Brueckner’s USB and hard drive devices?

The USB and hard drives devices reportedly contain highly disturbing material confirming Brueckner’s alleged obsession with kidnapping children, records of Skype chats with paedophiles talking about children, and shocking child abuse images.

Written stories were also allegedly discovered, describing drugging a mom and daughter and abusing a four-year-old girl.

A photograph of Brueckner also allegedly links him to a location close to where Madeleine vanished.

It’s reported images found on the devices are ‘crucial’ evidence Madeleine likely died shortly after she went missing.

Months after the search was conducted in 2016, Brueckner was arrested and convicted of child abuse – unconnected to Madeleine’s case.

Previous cases against Brueckner

After images were discovered on his laptop, in February, 2016, Brueckner was convicted for abusing a five-year-old girl in a park. He went on the run but was then arrested in September, 2018 in Italy and extradited to Germany the next year.

In December, 2019, after his DNA was matched to the crime scene, Brueckner was found guilty of the rape of a woman in Praia da Luz in 2005 and sentenced to seven years – a sentence he is still currently serving.

He was later named as a suspect in Madeleine’s case in 2020, with German prosecutors stating for the first time they believe the missing girl is no longer alive.

However, in October 2024, Brueckner was cleared of carrying out five sex offences in Portugal between 2000 and 2017 and prosecutors also haven’t charged him in relation to Madeleine’s case.

The Sun’s full investigation airs on Channel 4 at 9pm (GMT) today (May 7).

UNILAD has contacted Brueckner’s representative for comment.

Virginia Giuffre, nee Roberts, has been confirmed dead having been found unresponsive at her home in Western Australia yesterday

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide which some readers may find distressing.

Virginia Giuffre has tragically died at the age of 41 having helped incarcerate Jeffrey Epstein.

Her family confirmed that she passed after taking her own life at her home in Australia yesterday (April 25).

Announcing the heartbreaking news, the family of Giuffre, nee Roberts, issued the following statement: “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia.

“She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.

“Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors.

“In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.”

Cops in Western Australia confirmed that they were called to her residence in the Neergabby area, which is located an hour’s drive north of Perth, last night where Giuffre was found unresponsive.

“Police and St John Western Australia attended and provided emergency first aid. Sadly, the 41-year-old woman was declared deceased at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.

“The death is being investigated by Major Crime detectives; early indication is the death is not suspicious.”

Virginia Giuffre’s final Instagram post

On March 30, Giuffre took to Instagram to share that she had been involved in a horrific road traffic collision involving her car and a school bus that has caused her to develop what she described at the time as a potentially fatal medical condition.

The 41-year-old wrote: “This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km[h] [68mph] as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can.

“I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology. I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes.

“S**T in one hand and wish in the other & I guarantee it’s still going to be s**t at the end of the day. Thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life. Godbless you all xx Virginia.”

On April 7, it was confirmed that she was discharged from hospital.

Police later described the crash as ‘minor’ with ‘no reported injuries’, though Giuffre’s family later claimed police said ‘no one available to come to the scene’.

The family statement continued: “They asked if anyone was injured and suggested that if they were, they should make their way to the hospital.

“The school bus driver had a bus full of distraught children and left the scene to get them back, saying he would file a police report, which he did later.

“Virginia was banged up and bruised and returned home. Virginia’s condition worsened and she was admitted to the hospital.

“Concerning her Instagram post, Virginia thought that she had posted on her private Facebook page. Virginia and her family thank everyone for their concern.”

Giuffre was accused of breaching family violence restraining order

A month before, Giuffre had been charged with breaching a family violence restraining order in Ocean Reef, near Perth, amid reports of difficulties between her and estranged husband Robert.

Her case was first heard in Joondalup Magistrates’ Court in northern Perth on March 14, where she did not enter a plea.

The matter was adjourned to 11 June for a plea hearing, according to Western Australia Courts, while her agent said at the time that Giuffre ‘looks forward to defending herself against [Robert’s] malicious claim’.

Virginia Giuffre’s allegations against Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew

Giuffre alleged that when she was 17 she was sex trafficked to Prince Andrew by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and was ‘forced to have sex’ with the royal at Epstein’s New York apartment.

Prince Andrew denies all claims against him.

In 2022, Giuffre and the Royal reached a financial settlement out of court, though he did not admit to any wrongdoing as part of the settlement.

In 2019, Epstein took his own life in prison where he was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. In 2022, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for her role in the sexual abuse of young girls.

Following the news of her death, Giuffre’s publicist Dini von Mueffling described the mother-of-three as ‘deeply loving, wise and funny’.

Everything we know after mom allegedly helped 13-year-old son plan school shooting 'as a reward for babysitting'

Everything we know after mom allegedly helped 13-year-old son plan school shooting ‘as a reward for babysitting’

Ashley Pardo and her son remain in custody facing charges relating to the teenager’s plot to commit a massacre on school grounds

community in San Antonio, Texas, descended into panic in May after it became known that a boy had been preparing to carry out a massacre on the grounds of Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School – located just a 15-minute drive from the city center.

In May, the schoolboy arrived on campus ‘wearing a mask, camouflage jacket and tactical pants but left shortly after’, police confirmed – before later catching up with him away from the school and charged him with terrorism.

According to court documents, his mom Ashley Pardo had taken him to a military store where she bought him the gear, including ammunition. The 33-year-old reportedly purchased the equipment as a reward ‘in exchange for babysitting his siblings’, officials claim.

Meanwhile, the teen’s grandmother blew the whistle on her grandson as she rang the police to inform them of her fears, after he told her that he was ‘going to be famous’ before leaving for school on May 12.

Who is Ashley Pardo and her son?

Ashley Pardo is a mom of at least two children – the first being the 13-year-old who she is accused of having been complicit in his plans to carry out a school shooting. The other known child being an infant, who at 11 months old, she took a picture of herself pointing a shotgun at her baby.

Her teen son was a student at Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School and was a known delinquent, with court records noting that he was accused of setting fires in dumpsters near apartment complexes when he was just 11 years old.

It has also been reported that the teenager has previously been found hitting a live bullet with a hammer.

Both Pardo and her son remain in custody.

Why have police not named the boy?

In the US, children under the age of 18, who have been arrested in relation to a crime, are awarded anonymity until adulthood or up until their case is transferred to an adult court.

In this instance, Pardo’s teen son’s identity will be protected by law in the initial stages of the case, but could be released if a judge ruled that it is in the public’s interest due to the severity of the case.

Charges Ashley Pardo faces and court orders

Pardo has become the first person in Bexar County history to face a charge of aiding in the commission of terrorism, after officials accused her of arming her 13-year-old son with a plot to carry out mass violence at his San Antonio middle school.

As mentioned previously, Pardo allegedly bought several things to help her son commit a shooting, such as ammunition, tactical gear, and loaded magazines – according to court documents

It is claimed that Pardo gave her son the equipment to kill ‘in exchange for babysitting his siblings’, officials said.

The mom was arrested in relation to the incident but posted a $75,000 bond.

Aiding in the commission of terrorism isn’t the only charge Pardo is facing, as she was arrested yesterday (August 1) on a new charge of endangering a child with criminal negligence.

The fresh charge came after an image was found among evidence of the shooting plot, which was allegedly sent from Pardo to the father of her 11-month-old child, according to the arrest warrant.

The image is said to show her holding a shotgun to the infant’s head, with her finger on the trigger guard as the baby reached for the barrel of the gun, police said.

In the text, she allegedly called the baby a ‘brat’ and stated: “Tell her to keep being bad.”

After her arrest on Friday, the mother was ordered to have no contact with her children, and she must wear an ankle monitor if released from jail – with a bond set at $45,000.

She is also unable to own firearms or drink alcohol, as per the judge’s orders.

According to the police, she showed no guilt for the charges she faces, with San Antonio Police Chief William McManus stating during a news conference in May: “She appeared to be dismissive and unconcerned with her son’s behavior.

“Her behavior is not only dangerous – it’s abhorrent, especially as a parent.”

Charges Pardo’s son faces

The teenager is currently only facing a third-degree felony firearm charge – possession of a prohibited weapon, although it is expected that he will face more charges.

He has also been deemed a risk to public safety, and so his grandmother’s plea for him to be released into her custody with a GPS tracker on has been thrown out by the judge.

His next hearing is set for August 7.

What inspired the boy to want to commit school shooting?

Authorities allege Pardo’s son drew maps of his school months before his arrest, which was marked ‘suicide route,’ as his fascination with white supremacist mass shooters led him to plan an attack at Rhodes Middle School.

It was discovered that the teen had been researching the facts around the horrific 2019 Christchurch Mosque massacre, allegedly telling his grandmother – who reported it to the police – that he was ‘going to be famous’.

This was a reference to Brenton Tarrant, who committed the mass shooting on the New Zealand church, killing 51.

As for their home, authorities say they found white supremacist slogans and symbols such as references to ’14 worlds,’ ‘SS,’ and swastikas, as well as an improvised explosive device, handwritten lists of mass shooters and their victims, and evidence of an obsession with violence.

McManus said the family’s behavior, and what was found within the home, had forced authorities to act fast.

“There were some very disturbing things found inside that house,” he said. “That kind of was an indication to us that we needed to move very quickly.”

Why school let the teen back in despite findings

San Antonio Independent School District officials found violent drawings in the boy’s possession, including maps of the school.

Despite the findings, he was allowed back on campus on May 8 after spending time at an alternative programme, with SAISD Police Chief Johnny Reyes stating: “I can understand the parents’ concerns. But again, the students still have a right to be in school unless it poses an immediate threat.”

According to court documents, on May 12, the teen arrived to school wearing a mask, tactical pants, and a camouflage jacket, causing the school to alert the police.

What Jeremiah Rhodes Middle School said

On May 12, Rhodes Middle School’s principal Felismina Martinez issued a statement to parents on Facebook.

“Dear Families, I want to inform you of an incident that involved a student. Our police department investigated a concern with some posts the student made online,” it read.

“The student was detained off-campus and is being charged with Terrorism. Please know we take all potential threats seriously and act immediately to protect everyone in our care.

“We will always remain vigilant to ensure our learning and working environment is safe and secure. Student safety is a top priority at SAISD (San Antonio Independent School District) schools, and we want to keep families informed of situations as soon as we are able. We thank you for your support and understanding.”

A week later, the school posted to the social media platform to inform parents that students should not bring backpacks to the school gates for the remainder of the academic year.

“No more student backpacks will be allowed for the rest of the school year,” it urged.

How parents reacted

Understandably, parents were worried following the news that the youngster had plotted to carry out a school shooting on Rhodes Middle School’s grounds, as well as alleging that the only communication of the incident they received was from a Facebook post.

One concerned mother commented under the initial post: “This should not be the only way to communicate something like this?!? The mother is out on bond and I do not feel safe sending my son the rest of the school year!

“A phone call or email would have been better than posting on Facebook!! What if something had happened?!???”

While another mom added: “Poorly worded response from the school. Made the situation sound a lot less serious than it really is.

“The tone of this letter sounds like Rhodes had something simple as an electrical issue at school not a possible mass shooting being intervened.”

With a third typing: “What’s going to happen now ? She’s out and bond & who knows where her child is ? What if they both go to the school ?”

A worry that other parents agreed with, as another mom asked: “What are the precautions taken in this situation? I’m scared to send my child to school..”
